Last week Facebook announced yet more changes to their algorithm.

Here is the announcement of their changes: “As part of an ongoing survey we asked hundreds of thousands of people how they feel about the content in their News Feeds. People told us they wanted to see more stories from friends and Pages they care about, and less promotional content.”

So basically, Facebook are making it more difficult for your promotional content to show in news feeds of your audience. This applies to organic content only.

An average Facebook user could see around 1,500 stories in a day. Facebook narrows that down to about 300 of the stories they believe the user will be most likely to care about.

So now you need to create a post as follows:

Instead of a post that says…

Click below to buy my new product NOW!

Do something like…

It’s been a long time coming but this product is now available. It is available in a variety of options..

Users generally react to the second one better anyway. However, Facebook are more likely to see the second post as interesting content and show this in more news feeds.

When curating your content, the important things to bear in mind is that your content should now consist of something interesting, educational or entertaining.
